What is a Registration Rally?
Grow your team by hosting a registration rally. Whether you are a returning team or brand new to The Walk, a rally is your chance to invite your colleagues and friends to come out and sign up to walk by your side in 2019. Our Walker Coaches will share all of the important details and answer any questions the attendees may have about the event.

What is team-based fundraising?
Every Walker has an individual fundraising goal that must be met in order to participate, and every team has a fundraising goal. The team goal is the sum of the number of individual Walker fundraising goals. For example, a team of two Walkers who have a $1,500 goal, would have a team goal $3,000. Team fundraising means that if one Walker raises $2,000 and the second Walker raises $1,000, then the team goal of $3,000 has been met and both can participate.
What are the benefits of having a co-captain?
Enlisting a co-captain can be a huge benefit to helping you stay organized and helping the team stay motivated and informed through the year. The Team Captain Handbook outlines many different best practices on how to be the best leader you can be, and how a co-captain can share the responsibility with you as you delegate certain tasks. Also, should you be unable to participate the following year, you will have seasoned colleague to help take over.
Whats the difference between an individual fundraising page and team fundraising page?
Donors can search for a participant by team name or by first and last name. Individual Walkers each have their own fundraising page to solicit and collect donations. Every Walker on a team can also be found through the team page. The team page shows a full list of all team members and the collective team goal, as well as the total amount collected by all team members to date.
Does everyone on a team have to direct their dollars to the same cancer fund?
We have a list of 17 cancer funds to direct your dollars towards. Walkers who are part of a team still have the opportunity to choose what type of cancer research and care they would like to support and can indicate their preference during registration or, by calling the office at 815-WALK . Learn more about the types of cancer funds available here.
Do you offer fundraising incentives for my team?
Yes. We partner with sponsors and other organizations to offer incentive based challenges, which can earn you swag, on-event perks and fundraising credits. Many companies also offer matching gifts through programs like United Way and Benevity. We encourage you to inquire with your company and see what fundraising support they may be able to offer.
Does everyone on my team need to walk the same route?
While we do recommend everyone participates on the same route, it is not mandatory. Teams may choose to walk in both the OneWalk City Nights or Day Trip, or both, but we have found that team have the best experience when walking together and sharing this incredible experience as a group.
